Saundra Mitchal (1949-2021)

Saundra Mitchal (1949-2021) was born in Massillon, Ohio, to the late Betty J. Brown and the late Clyde R. Mitchal. She was a 1967 Washington High School graduate, named an Alumni Association Distinguished Citizen in 1993.


Saundra earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Kent State University, where she was president of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She earned her MBA from Indiana University. She held a variety of corporate marketing positions, including Vice-President of marketing for Neutrogena and retired as Chief Marketing Officer for the Washington, DC Lottery.


Mitchal received the Kent State University Distinguished Alumni Award and was a founding member of the Corporate Women's Network. She was named by Black Enterprise Magazine on their list of Corporate Women of Power, and was featured in an article by Essence Magazine as being among the ten black female "Power Players," and is listed in Who's Who Among Black Women. She was also a proud, founding member of the African American Women’s Business Network in New York City.
