Esther Bryant

Esther Bryant is a graduate of Washington High School in Massillon. She attended Kent State University and later decided on a career in the beauty field. She graduated from Washington Beauty Academy in Akron where she taught as an instructor. She also taught at the Jane Skinner Modeling School. She worked in Cleveland for several years at Christiana’s Hair Weev (Inventor of the hair weave) as the general manager. She opened her own business in 1992, a boutique and beauty salon. She has been a foster parent since 1992, and opened Lighthouse Visions in 2004, a nonprofit organization that trains foster and other youth under the age of 15 in basic life skills.

Bryant is a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she serves as church pianist. She is very active in the Stark County community. Bryant serves as a board member on Massillon Fair Housing, Parks and Recreation, Downtown Merchants Association, Westark Family Services, Stark Community Action, N.A.A.C.P., and the Collaborative Agency of Massillon and Canton. She is the mother of two daughters, Bridget Hill of Canton and Judge Valarie Hill of Milwaukee. She has three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her hobbies include music and planning events. Her love is hosting several hat shows during the year and her annual fashion show.
